The secrets out! The best beauty salons in Dubai

Just moved to Dubai? Been here 3 years and still jump from salon to salon? *that’s us. The average relationship with your hairdresser is eight years and two months! We don’t even last 8 visits! Time to make a change, with some help from some Dubai ladies’ recommendations:

There are two things I’m super particular about when it comes to beauty: my hair and my eyebrows, everything else comes second! I have thick hair – like really thick – and the only person I let touch my hair is Najib at VITA LITA Salon (Habtoor Grand, JBR). I found him a few months into me moving here and he knows what to do, he just gets it you know? I just sit there and let him work his magic and I have never walked out with a cut and style I haven’t loved. He’s honest too, advises what would look good and help my hair (he wouldn’t let me highlight it when I asked because the dark, dark hair works better for me and keeps my hair shiny). said Rohma Nomnai

I’ve used Hamza (now at Marquee) for the past 6 years or more. He was my mum’s hairdresser and I only used to get my hair cut by him because he would cut and blow dry in less than 30 mins (when my hair was LONG) and it was always amazing and a blow dry lasted days! Honestly I don’t even tell him what I want now, I just feel safe whatever he does it will be perfect. said Bianca Ellis

Karl at Pastels, JBR Ritz Carlton is the dream. In almost 5 years he is the first person that has colored my hair no with absolutely no orange or yellow tones in sight! He is also the only master technician for Beauty Works hair extensions in the region so you couldn’t be in safer hands! said Aisling Gavin

Agree Karl at Pastels is everything!!!!! Best Hairdressser ever born. said Helena Agus

I’ve been going to Maria Dowling for years, she is one of the most trusted salon owners and experts in Dubai. She does knockout highlights and I really trust her with my hair – not easy for someone who has been burnt (quite literally) in the past. She really listens to what you want and creates such a gorgeous colour, that on a weekly basis I get an Instagram message or text asking where I get my hair coloured. She gets super booked up in the busy months so plan in advance but as most of her clients travel in August she might be able to squeeze you in this month. said Jade Chilton

Mia at N Bar, Grosvenor House. Obviously no need to go into the details but this lady is amazing! said Aisling Gavin

Anita at The Glam Squad, Kempinski Palm is a nail genius. I struggled for so long with Gellish manicures that peeled off within days. I now get Gel Overlays that last an entire month and always look perfect! I will never go anywhere else!!! said Aisling Gavin

For eyebrows, I just need a really good aesthetician to shape them, without making them thinner and Pamela at Sisters MOE gets it right each time! The hardest bit is trying to get an appointment with her because she always fully booked! said Rohma Nomani

Chloe Walsh for semi-permanent eyebrows. Obvs. said Helena Agus

OMG obvvvsssss but that’s just a given! Brow Queen. said Aisling Gavin

We’ve talked about Chloe before, she really is the Dubai Brow Queen. said Frankie Hales

I can’t actually remember what my eyelashes look like without extensions (no, I’m not bald underneath here, I don’t know why that’s always the first question for eyelash extensions, but maybe I have just been lucky, or maybe it’s who I use!); I swear by The Cure (Media City branch) eyelash extensions (it’s always the same lovely lady), they are only 350AED (whereby other salons are 500AED++), you get to lay in an actual bed, with a DUVET (majorly winning, I sleep through the whole thing!), and they last 6 weeks easy. Faves. said Frankie Hales

Spray Tan

Spray Tans Julie at Beauty Spot, Fairmont The Palm. She has been Spray tanning on cruise ships for 5 years and is amazing! said Aisling Gavin

Anything else we need doing to look naturally beautiful?? It’s hard being a woman isn’t it! We hope this helps with the salon hopping! Comment below if you have other salon favourites. We’re off to see Karl, he’s clearly our mane (pun intended) man!
